Aquapath Soil is an ongoing ESA's project in the framework of EOEP-3 programme. The objective of the project is to develop a service to help farmers managing irrigation needs.
The tool will generate weekly irrigation forecasts and warnings, aiming at better crop production and water management, valuable for both farmers and irrigation associations. The farmers will also be able to interact with the service data by providing agriculture practices, using a platform to produce their own simulations, completely adapted to their agriculture practices. This platform would run through the internet, making it accessible from any PC.
The project is led by IST's MARETEC and it is being developed together with FENAREG ( the Portuguese Federation of Local Irrigation Associations), Hidromod ( a Portuguese water services company) and Praia D'El Rey Golf Course.
